JASON WILSON is senior correspondent for The New Wine Review. He also writes Everyday Drinking, a newsletter about the world of wine & spirits (awarded Substack’s Food Intensive Fellowship).

He is the author of Godforsaken Grapes, which The New York Times named one of “The Best Wine Books of 2018” and Smithsonian named among the “Ten Best Food Books of 2018.”

He is also the author of Boozehound, which Anthony Bourdain called “superbly informative, entertaining, and yet deeply subversive.” Serious Eats called Boozehound one of the “10 Essential Books for Cocktail Lovers.”

His most recent book, The Cider Revival, was named one of “The Best Wine Books of 2019” The New York Times.

He was series editor of The Best American Travel Writing annual (Houghton Mifflin) for 22 years.

Wilson’s work has appeared in the Washington Post, New York Times, The New Yorker, Wine Enthusiast, Whisky Advocate, Travel & Leisure, AFAR, National Geographic Traveler, Conde Nast Traveler, Preservation, Town & Country, Salon, Outside, Boston Globe, Guernica and many other publications.

He wrote wine and spirits criticism for Vinous, where he covered Loire Valley, Cognac, and Armagnac, among other beats. He was the drinks columnist at the Washington Post for over six years, and three times his column won awards for Best Food Column from the Association of Food Journalists.

He has been a columnist for Wine Enthusiast, the beer columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, dining critic for the Philadelphia Daily News and Philadelphia Magazine, and the US columnist for Harpers Wine + Spirit.
